100 AMERICAN CHILDREN’S BOOK LIST

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
Today I give you a list of the best books for children from the National Education Association (of America). These kid’s books were the most popular and acclaimed in the year 1999 (latest available but it does not date). The year’s most well-known children’s books are timeless, and are still perfect for the classroom or for your own children. The list covers all ages.
You will find on the list many classics that we are familiar with here in the UK. You will also find some you are not so familiar with.
It is good to let our children have a taste of other cultures and books are a good way to do it. Although Americans appear to be like us, after all the language is similar, isn’t it? But we find there is a huge difference. It is good for children to learn this.
To select a suitable book for your child read the blurb on the cover or a description of the book. Most are available from high street booksellers if not definitely online.
