TOP 23 Disney movies coming 2022 and 2023+

There’s no shortage of new Disney movies headed our way through 2022 and beyond. The latest film to join the slate is a live-action adaptation of The Aristocats, while the next movie to hit our screens will be Pixar’s animated tale Turning Red. And that’s only the beginning, too. The rest of this year brings with it Toy Story spin-off Lightyear, as well as Strange World, Enchanted sequel Disenchanted, and a live-action Pinocchio starring Tom Hanks.

Beyond 2022, Disney has Indiana Jones 5, a live-action Little Mermaid, Cruella 2, a Haunted Manion reboot, Peter Pan and Wendy, a Tower of Terror movie, and much, much more in the works. We’ve rounded up every single movie headed our way right here, so you can get up to speed on everything the House of Mouse is cooking up. If you’re looking for Marvel or Star Wars news, though, you won’t find that here.

New Disney movies: 2022

  1. Turning Red Release date: March 11, 2022
  2. Cheaper by the Dozen Release date: March 2022
  3. Chip ‘N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers Release date: Spring 2022
  4. Lightyear Release date: June 17, 2022
  5. Well, now. This is interesting. Chris Evans is set to play Buzz Lightyear. No, not the toy. This is all to do with the in-universe astronaut on which the merchandise was based. Confused? Evans has cleared it up and it changes lore from the original Toy Story, over 25 years on. The first trailer has also been released.
  6. Strange World Release date: November 23, 2022
  7. Disenchanted Release date: Fall 2022
  8. Hocus Pocus 2 Release date: Fall 2022
  9. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again Release date: 2022

New Disney movies: 2023

  1. The Little Mermaid (Live Action) Release date: May 26, 2023
  2. Indiana Jones 5 Release date: June 30, 2023

New Disney movies: Release dates TBA

  1. Haunted Mansion Release date: TBA     A Haunted Mansion movie starring Eddie Murphy already exists, but Disney is rebooting the franchise with a brand new take on their famous theme park ride.
  1. Aladdin 2 Release date: TBA
  2. Cruella 2 Release date: TBA
  3. Lion King prequel Release date: TBA
  4. Pirates of the Caribbean reboot Release date: TBA
  5. Pirates of the Caribbean (with Margot Robbie) Release date: TBA       Arr, me mateys! We could be getting a double dose of rum-and-sailin’ shenanigans if this Pirates report rings true. Sources close to The Hollywood Reporter indicate that Margot Robbie will take the lead in a female-fronted original movie set in the Pirates universe, wholly distinct and separate from a likely sixth Pirates of the Caribbean mainline movie.
  1. Sister Act 3 Release date: TBA
  2. Whoopi Goldberg and Wendy Makkena are returning for Sister Act 3. Hallelujah!
  3. Three Men and a Baby Release date: TBA     The ’80s comedy featuring Ted Danson, Tom Selleck, and Steve Guttenberg was a surprise hit. So much so, that Disney is bringing it back for a reboot. The premise, which saw three bachelors receive a surprise ‘package’ in the form of a baby is likely to stay, but the cast will be different.
  1. Tron 3 Release date: TBA
  2. Untitled Tower of Terror movie Release date: TBA
  3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Live Action) Release date: TBA
  4. The Aristocats (Live Action) Release date: TBA        A live-action adaptation, with Peter Rabbit director Will Gluck and Onward scribe Keith Bunin writing the script. Not much is known about the movie just yet, but it’ll reportedly have a similar look to the live-action Lady and the Tramp Disney Plus movie.

Happiness is…A new Disney movie or a new BBC progamme.

Why didn’t the lifeguard save the hippie? Because he was too far out, man.

Love is…being an indispensable part of each other’s lives.
