ONLY 2 SLEEPS TO CHRISTMAS

  1. A CHRISTMAS QUOTE

“There’s nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child.” (Erma Bombeck)

  1. CHRISTMAS FEATURE

We’ve looked at every massive UK Christmas week No.1. But what about the US. They don’t seem to get as excited about their Christmas No.1 as we do. I could not find a list of them anywhere. I had to compile my own.

Billboard Charts have been going in the US far longer than our charts but the one they go by, the Billboard Hot 100 began in 1958. The first number one song of the Billboard Hot 100 was “Poor Little Fool” by Ricky Nelson, on August 4, 1958.

Here is a list of all their Christ week No.1s.

Americans are not as crazy as us Brits. They have few novelty tracks getting to No.1 and only have two tracks that have a festive theme as No.1.

Carey’s holiday smash is just the second holiday song to ever top the Hot 100, with the only previous No. 1 being The Chipmunks’ “The Chipmunk Song,” which topped the charts for four weeks from 1958 and into 1959. In its announcement, Billboard noted that holiday songs were ineligible on the Hot 100 for several years (from 1963 until 1972, and then again from 1983 until 1985), being ranked on a separate holiday chart instead.

One year has passed since William Trundle’s incredible adventure with the most extraordinary dinosaur: the Christmasaurus. Now, William is swept back to the magical North Pole, where he meets the mysterious, icy Winter Witch – whose power to control time allows Santa Claus to make the long journey all around the world every Christmas Eve.

And when they learn that the fate of Christmas itself hangs in the balance, William and the Christmasaurus must work with the Winter Witch to protect it…

Full of magic and music, humour and heart, and a friendship like no other, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch is the most enchanting Christmas read for the whole family.
