CORONABOBS ISOLATION DAY 111 – Diary of a Self-Isolator Saturday 11th July 2020
Today we took a step nearer normality, in fact two steps really. The main one was having a Takeaway Chinese in the garden with both sets of grandchildren. Fully socially distancing of course. The other was visiting the chiropodist.
I have Type II diabetes and as part of my health management I have to look after my feet which involves quarter year visits to the chiropodist. I am very fortunate that I do have an exceptionally good one. A bonus is that I get on with her really well. We have some brilliant conversations which makes it a pleasure to visit her. It is like visiting an old friend.
During lockdown like every where else the chiropodist has been closed. But it’s great to see them open again. But with lots of adjustments to the service. A Perspex screen has appeared between me and the receptionist. We have to wear masks. And previously she was able to do three appointments an hour, but now only two. All payment has to be by card.
It seems cheesy to say it is a foot in the right direction.
From there we went straight on to my daughters where along with her husband and two children we were joined by my other daughter, husband and two children.
We met in their back garden for only the second time since lockdown rules were relaxed. As the Newark Chinese Takeaway were now open for business that is what we opted for for food. And a McDonalds Takeaway for the children.
The weather was beautiful and sunny and we ended up staying until nineish. But we began to feel normal again.
DON’T FORGET TO LAUGH EVERYDAY ESPECIALLY WHILST IN ISOLATION
