CORONABOBS ISOLATION DAY 17 – Diary of a Self-Isolator 1.4.20

Today was April Fool’s Day. Unfortunately, our family did not get around to celebrating it.

We had a scare with one of my daughter’s mothers-in-law being rushed into hospital with breathing difficulties. Highly unlikely it’s Coronavirus. But it’s an endless nervous wait for information.

One of my grandchildren had a temperature and a bit of a fever too.

But one of our daughter’s friends did a brilliant one on her children. They look about 10 and 12 years old. She sent a photograph of them sitting in their nice neat smart school uniforms at the table in the kitchen eating breakfast. She added the caption: “Who would have thought school would reopen on April Fools Day? These two clearly did.”

She had convinced her two children schools had reopened and got them up in school uniform ready to go back to school. How brilliant. It keeps making me laugh. I wish I’d have thought of that. Athough I do notice on the internet that one or two parents did manage to pull that stunt.

I discovered today the Baby Shark hand washing video that helps teach children how to do it properly

Viral children’s phenomenon Baby Shark has released a new rendition of the song that teaches children how to wash their hands properly amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Baby Shark song, an educational jingle created by the YouTube channel Pinkfong, first went viral in 2018 for its catchy lyrics.

Now, a year after the original tune, which has been viewed more than 4.9bn times, broke the Top 40 of the Billboard Top 100, its creators have released Wash Your Hands With Baby Shark.

The new video, which was uploaded to YouTube on 21 March, encourages children to “wash your hands, doo doo doo doo doo, wash your hands” and “grab some soap, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo”.

In addition to teaching kids how to thoroughly wash their hands – the best way to prevent transmission of the new coronavirus, according to the CDC – the video also suggests covering your sneeze and coughing into your elbow.

“Safe at last, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo,” the sharks sing during the video, which has already been viewed more than 5m times. “Let’s stay healthy.”

Along with the instructional video, the creators of baby shark have launched the #BabySharkHandWashChallenge, a dance challenge that encourages parents to upload videos of their children washing their hands to the song.

Wash Your Hands to Baby Shark

I got put on the replacement medication for Warfarin. Now down to one blood test every 12 month. That is a major plus due to Coronavirus. But I would gladly stay on Warfarin for ever, if it meant I even just one Coronavirus death could be saved,
