CORONABOBS ISOLATION DAY 55 – Diary of a Self-Isolator Saturday 9Th May 2020

Today was a relaxing day. The weather although cool lent itself to a day off. The sky was blue. The sun was bright and beautiful. And after a full on day of Lockdown celebration for Grandson George’s 4th Birthday yesterday, we granted ourselves a rest day.

We decided to go for a good one hour’s nature walk. An incredibly inspiring nature walk. This is probably the most active time of year for nature. All the hedgerows are covered with the white May Blossom. The blossom of the hawthorn bush, tree and hedgerow. There is so many other flowers in bloom too. As you walk there is a wonderful soundtrack of melodic music from the choir of birds. All goes together to give a good feeling.

There were a great many people out walking too and there seemed far more vehicles on the roads. There was a lot of excited anticipation and speculation about what Boris Johnson was going to say, Sunday Evening at 7.00pm in his address to the nation.

On my day off I started leisurely checking out stories around the world. Goldie Hawn is just 4 years older than me and I have always admired her work. Right from her early days on Laugh In. I thought the following a great story about her.

American actress Goldie Hawn, her daughter Kate Hudson and baby granddaughter Rani Rose Fujikawa were featured on the cover of People magazine’s annual Beautiful issue on Tuesday 5th May 2020.

It was the first time that three generations have appeared on the Beautiful cover, which marked the 30th anniversary of one of the celebrity publication’s most coveted honours.

“These women illustrate what is important to us right now: positivity, kindness, laughter and family,” said People’s editor-in-chief Dan Wakeford.

In the magazine, Private Benjamin (1980) star Hawn, 74, and Almost Famous (2000) actress Hudson, 41, talk about their relationship and the challenges of parenting.

“When your daughter has a daughter, it’s a big deal,” said Hawn, who is in a 37-year relationship with actor Kurt Russell. “I mean, it really is.”

Hudson is her daughter with ex-husband, singer Bill Hudson.

“Mom was my greatest cheerleader,” Hudson told the magazine. “And it just made me think about Rani… going, ‘I hope I give her that kind of confidence’, you know?”

Rani is her 18-month-old daughter with boyfriend, musician Danny Fujikawa, 33. She has two sons Ryder, 16, and Bingham, eight, from previous relationships.

Hawn’s long-term relationship with Russell, 69, has also inspired Hudson. “To live up to that is really the goal,” she said.

The double issue, was on newsstands Tuesday 5th May and contains 40 pages of other stars, including actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Rita Wilson, who photographed themselves for the Barefaced Beauties section.

American actress Michelle Pfeiffer was the first person to be featured on the cover of the Most Beautiful special issue in 1990. Others over the years have included five-time favourite Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Beyonce.

The feature was changed in 2018 to simply the Beautiful issue.

Another thing I picked up was a snippet about 1980s chart recording artist  Tiffany.

Formerly From: “I Think We’re Alone Now” – 80s Popstar Fame

Currently: Clothing store owner

Net Worth: $4 million

Tiffany was an eighties teen singing icon who was best known for her song “I Think We’re Alone Now.” Tiffany also sang “I Saw Him Standing There,” which was a cover of the Beatles’ song “I Saw Her Standing There,” just with the lyrics changed. That single reached the top position on the Billboard charts.

Tiffany’s second album was released in 1988, but it wasn’t as successful as her debut. Though Tiffany has continued to sing, she has looked to other ventures as well, including opening a clothing shop. She also tours small venues (coffee shops and festivals) too.

Just thought it was interesting in passing.

On TV we watched interesting documentary about Peter Sellers. I loved the Goons when I was young! But like lots are really talented funny people he had his problems.

Happiness is…a nature walk on a glorious sunny day observing the May blossom and listening to the dawn chorus.

Police: Do you know why we stopped you?

Man: No, I’m as baffled as you are!
