Lady Gaga’s Chromatica outselling the Top 20 combined in pursuit of Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart
Lady Gaga’s new album Chromatica is on course to debut at Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart with impressive opening week numbers.
Gaga’s sixth studio album is currently outperforming the rest of the midweek Top 20 combined. Chromatica leads on all formats (physical, download and streaming) and already claims 2020’s fastest-selling vinyl album based on just three days of sales.
Shifting 40,000 chart sales so far this week, Chromatica has already outperformed the first week tallies of her 2014 Tony Bennett duets album Cheek To Cheek, 2016’s Joanne and the cast recording of A Star Is Born from 2018.
Chromatica is looking likely to be Gaga’s fourth chart-topping album in the UK, following 2009’s The Fame/The Fame Monster (packaged as one album in the UK), 2011’s Born This Way and Artpop. View Lady Gaga’s full UK chart history.
Meanwhile, three songs from Chromatica – current Number 1 single Rain On Me, Blackpink collaboration Sour Candy and album track Alice – are set for the Official Singles Chart Top 40 this Friday.
LOCKDOWN BREACH
Tory polling stabilises as Labour whip resigns
Latest polls suggest that public outrage over Dominic Cummings’ lockdown breach is receding, with the Conservatives’ lead over Labour widening to ten points in the past week.
The Tories’ image has “nosedived” since early April, with voters increasingly viewing the ruling party as “out of touch and incompetent”, says The Times.
Zoom soars during lockdown
Use of the video conference company Zoom’s software soared 30-fold in April, as the coronavirus pandemic forced millions to work, learn and meet-up remotely. At one point, the firm counted more than 300 million daily participants in virtual meetings, while paying customers have more than tripled. The company said it expects sales as high as $1.8bn (£1.4bn) this year – roughly double what it forecast in March.
Law firm says divorce inquiries rocketing during lockdown
A legal firm says divorce inquiries have increased by more than 40% during the lockdown. Between the start of the lockdown in March and mid-May, Co-op Legal Services reported a 42% increase in divorce inquiries, compared with the same period in 2019. Divorce proceedings have been going ahead over video conferencing calls while the courts have been closed.

It is 10 years since I did a mail merge and I needed to do one for the Church Parish News. Me and Mamma spent the afternoon reminding ourselves. Where would we be without YouTube.
The sunny weather did a runner today and we had pouring rain most of the day. We still managed to walk 3.5 miles at the evening. It was much cooler though.
We watched an hour-long TV programme celebrating Bradley Welsh’s 60th birthday. What a talent and particular comedy talent that man has. Is there nothing he’s not done?
