19. EWAN’S ADVENT MESSAGE: On our ceiling in some rooms at our house we have what I have always thought were burglar lights. Red lights that come on when there is a burglar in the room. I’ve always thought they were faulty because they come on sometimes when only I am in the room. But Dad says when the red light is on it means Santa is watching. On one hand it piles on the stresses in trying to remain good but on the other I question the legality of him infringing my privacy. It quite surprises me that my Mum allows it with her law degree and her leaning towards civil liberties law.
- GEORGE’S ADVENT MESSAGE: I’ve heard this song quite a bit of late:
You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He’s making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who’s naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you’re sleeping
He knows when you’re awake
He knows if you’ve been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming
So what’s that all about, then? Has this guy not heard that the spirit of giving is to give and expect nothing in return? Too much expected of me there. I think I might opt out of this one, too much pressure.
