 Didn’t Know That Last Week – 16th July 2018

A very different angle to “Didn’t Know That Last Week”. This post is made up totally of news items.

Normally the news is Brexit, Brexit, Brexit with a bit of politics and the odd disaster.

But this week has been very different. Her are 10 things worth mentioning in a week bulging ready to pop with news.

1              England finishes 4th in the World Cup in Russia and Harry Kane wins the Golden Boot after finishing as the World Cup’s top scorer

2              Prince Louis’ christening was on Monday

3              On Tuesday the RAF celebrated their 100 year anniversary with a Fly Past over Buckingham Palace of up to 100 RAF aircraft, a parade of more than 1,000 personnel. The Red Arrows were the final aeroplanes in the flypast giving their usual great display

4              Angelique Kerber Aged 30 of Germany won Wimbledon Ladies Tennis Final for 2018

5              Novak Djokovic aged 31 from Serbia won his fourth Wimbledon Men’s Tennis Final being the 2018 Final

6              President Trump visited Britain and met The Queen and Theresa May. There are many protest marches against his visit

7              World Cup Football Final was played in Moscow, Russia on Sunday between Croatia and France – the winner France

8              Baddiel, Skinner & the Lemonheads make No.1 with Three Lions for a Chart history record breaking 4th time proving chart statistics and record breakers are alive and kicking

9              A team of 12 boy footballers and their coach (human coach not their mode of transport) were rescued from rising flood waters in a Thailand cave. They were found by a team of divers from the UK

10           Go on then, Brexit. David Davis and Boris Johnson resigned over Brexit, Theresa May’s cabinet met and fell out over it at Chequers. Does anybody care? Whatever happens for all the talking our views and certainly mine won’t affect anything and we’ll all make deals and trade with who we want even if it’s on the black market. Politics is SUCH A WASTE OF TIME! And Boris, he’s ok, straight back into writing his weekly column for the Daily Telegraph. What I would give to write a weekly column. I guess I need to become eccentric like Boris and Trump!
