1              Almost one-fifth of people aged 16 to 24 spend more than seven hours a day glued to their smartphones, new Ofcom data reveals

3              Apple has become the world’s first public company to be worth $1 trillion (£767bn). The tech giant’s market value reached the landmark figure in New York on 3rd August as its shares closed at a new record high of $207 – Source BBC

4              The volume of calls have dropped despite mobile addiction. Many of us may seem glued to our handsets but the number of calls made on mobile phones in the UK fell for the first time ever in 2017. The total volume of calls made on mobiles fell by 1.7% in 2017, even though making them is the cheapest it has ever been. Ofcom says that on average people check their phones once every 12 minutes during their waking hours. The Independent
