Flu Jabs Smile & Bill Gates Giving it all Away

Two points today

1.)           Smile — it might save your life. Say the Daily Mail.

Apparently it’s vital you keep smiling when you have your flu jab: Being happy when you have an injection helps develop stronger defences. People in a good mood getting their flu jab develop stronger antibody defences

A study proved that those in a good mood fare better following the flu jab. Vaccines contain an inactive version of a virus that trains our immune systems. The more antibodies we produce, the more powerful our defence against infection becomes.

Who says? Kavita Vedhara, a professor of health psychology who led the Nottingham University study, had previously looked at how being stressed can damage our defences, specifically people who were under significant stress from caring for loved ones.

Mamma and me had our flu jabs yesterday we decided it was important to keep smiling, but then again we always try to anyway. I decided to tell Mamma a few jokes to help her but had to stop. She said it was having the opposite affect.

But then in today’s Telegraph it says the Flu Jab ain’t going to work anyway.

Who cares, keep calm and smile anyway.

2.)           Poor old Bill Gates is losing hold of his title as the world’s richest person, with Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos once again mounting a challenge for the top spot. But if Gates weren’t so philanthropic, it wouldn’t even be close.

Good old Bill!

Gates has a net worth of $86.8 billion on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He would be worth $150 billion if he hadn’t given away almost 700 million Microsoft Corp shares and $2.9 billion of cash and other assets to charity, according to an analysis of his publicly disclosed giving since 1996. The index numbers are based on the close of trading in New York on Wednesday.

And if not for more than a decade of donating Berkshire Hathaway Inc shares to charity, Warren Buffett, who is ranked No.3 in the index with $80.6 billion, would be right behind Gates with $135 billion. Bezos, who recently passed Gates for a few hours, has a net worth of $85.3 billion, according to the Bloomberg index, a daily ranking of the world’s 500 richest people.

Just a few tips Bill from myself who is in a similar position to where you could find yourself below Bezos in the billionaire stakes. To be honest, I am so below I fall off the chart. But I do find Ebay useful for topping up the pot and it gets rid of the junk. I bet you’ve got a garage full of old computers which would fetch a bob or two.

The Lottery is a good thing, you never win, but for best value buy it a week before it’s drawn or have a standing order. That restores hope. Hope does a lot.

Finally start a blog. A man of your standing should get a lot of hits, moneyterise it, and you are quids in.

If all else fails bring out Windows11 and charge for it this time. You missed a golden opportunity with Windows 10, fancy giving it away free.
