THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Joe Biden & Kamala Harris Presidential Inaugeration.
Trump is no longer president of America. Thankfully Biden is.
That all happened smoothly Wednesday 20th January 2021 of this week. It happened, fortunately, without trouble in the end, as the world held its breath and looked on.
One of my most favourite movie stars is Tom Hanks. Forrest Gump is probably my most favourite film. Tom Hanks hosted Joe Biden’s Inauguration Party.
After Lady Gaga (sang the National Anthem), Jennifer Lopez, and Garth Brooks’ performed at President Joe Biden’s swearing-in, Hollywood star Tom Hanks hosted a primetime TV special featuring performances from Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovato, Jon Bon Jovi, and Ant Clemons.
The special, titled “Celebrating America”, ran for 90 minutes and was broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC from 8:30–10:00 PM ET/PT.
“This inauguration presented a unique opportunity to spotlight the resilience and spirit of an America United,” said the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s CEO Tony Allen in a statement.
“We have witnessed countless heroes this past year step-up to the frontlines and serve their fellow Americans, so we are telling their stories, spreading their collective light, and celebrating the best of our country and its people with this primetime program.
“Our first priority is safety – so while many of us will be watching safely from our homes, we are creating real moments of connection that highlight a new inclusive American era of leadership that works for and represents all Americans,” continued Allen.
A pre-inauguration fundraising event, organised by the Biden-Harris team, hosted a “We the People” live-streamed concert on 17 January that was hosted by Keegan-Michael Key and Debra Messing.
Trump was ‘furious’ so many celebrities performed for Biden inauguration.
There were also appearances from President Joe Biden, Dr Jill Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Attendees viewing the livestream were asked to make a donation to help support the Biden-Harris inaugural programming in exchange for a link.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE FOR THE DAY
“You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.”
— Alan Alda
Happiness is…Biden & Harris taking over from Trump.
GRANDAD’S ONE LINER JOKE OF THE DAY
I threw a ball for my dog… It’s a bit extravagant I know, but it was his birthday, and he looks great in a dinner jacket. (Sorry if I’ve featured that one before, but I do like it.)
Love is…when he says you look beautiful first thing in the morning.
A time for trump (not)…A time for Biden.
