A significant event today is that the successful NOW compilation series is releasing NOW That’s What I Call Music Volume 100.

Volume 1 was released on 28 November 1983 Volume 100 on 20th July 2018

I am a big fan of compilation albums and for 30 years have put my own together under the title of Jive Puppy. I love the creativity of finding the best 40 tracks for a compilation album.

Prior to NOW That’s What I Call Music there were compilation albums produced by K-Tel and Arcade.

NOW That’s What I Call Music has proved to be the most successful.

Here is NOW That’s What I Call Music in “nice little numbers”:

2              99 out of the 100 NOW albums hit No.1 in the Chart assuming Vol 100 does so.

3              1.1 million was the number of NOW Volume 1 records sold

4              250+ Hours needed to listen to all the tracks on the 100 NOW compilation albums

5              120 million is the total number of NOW albums sold up to Vol.99

6              46 is the number of tracks on NOW 100, released 20th July 2018

stores.

24           6th In 2017 the festive compilation spin off record, Now That’s What I Call Christmas became the country’s sixth biggest selling album of all time, figures show. According to Now Music, its seasonal offering has now sold more than 4.4 million copies, overtaking both Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Adele’s 25 in the UK.

25          2053 is the year, if NOW That’s What I Call Music continues in popularity, when Volume 200 will be released.  I don’t think I’ll be around to see it, so I’d best make the most of this one.
