In the Radio Times giving programme details for 16th February to 22nd February 2019 they published a list of The Greatest Radio Shows Of All Time. They were selected by a panel of radio experts.

I have always been a fan of radio. As a child the radio was always playing in the background. So I could not help but enjoy the programmes.

The Radio Times list is below. I agree with most entries on the list. But, inevitably they have left lots out and I have added ten of my additional favourites. There are still many excellent programmes left from the list. But you could go on forever.

36           Jack Jackson’s Record Roundabout (formerly broadcast on BBC Light ) was broadcast on both Radio 1 & 2 from the launch in 1967 until June 1968. His shows included cleverly edited and blended recorded comedy clips and music of the day.  Jack moved to Tenerife in 1960, where he had installed a radio studio in his house, to record his BBC radio shows but he moved back to the UK in 1973 as the climate contributed to health problems. He broadcast on Radio 2  from 1971 to 1977
