When you look back in history there have been many key events occurring during this week. Here are 15 of them as an illustration.

14           13 July 1939:       Frank Sinatra makes his recording debut This week eight decades ago, one of the 20th century’s biggest icons started his incredible career by recording his first ever song. In June, Harry James hired Sinatra on a one year contract of $75 a week. It was with the James band that Sinatra released his first commercial record “From the Bottom of My Heart” in July, 1939 – US Brunswick #8443 and UK Columbia #DB2150.  Fewer than 8,000 copies of “From the Bottom of My Heart” were sold, making the record a very rare find that is sought after by both Sinatra and record collectors worldwide.

 

His  would last for 55 years and see more 150 million records sold in total. He would record 59 studio albums and 297 singles.
